| Copper Plating | Apollo machine houses a VAM®-certified copper plating cell. Using the immersion plating technique, we have the capability to copper-plate your components, or sections of components, from the smallest part to components up to 14′ long and 16″ in diameter. The immersion technique offers a superior bond to brush plating and allows us to plate both internal and external diameters as well as complex geometries. |
| Laser Cladding | Laser cladding is a weld overlay process that uses a laser the way conventional welding uses an arc. The deposited material (clad) may be similar to the substrate material as in the case of repairs, or it may offer enhanced wear and/or corrosion resistance. Apollo Machine Apollo-Clad uses CNC and Robotic laser systems to provide precision control during the cladding process. The accuracy and repeatability of these systems provides significant process control advantages over traditional, manual welding and hardfacing processes. |
| Laser Heat Treatment | Available for both OD and ID applications, laser heat treatment can be used to harden the surface of heat-treatable steels. The laser heat treatment process is used both to improve wear resistance by increasing hardness, and to improve fatigue resistance by developing compressive residual stresses at the surface of components. |
| Laser Welding | Laser welding works by melting the base material of two pieces so they can be joined very quickly. As the laser moves along the joint, the two pieces are joined without any filler metal. Laser welding works for a wide variety of alloys. Laser welding is incredibly fast, and ideal for high-volume production jobs where high-quality, full-penetration welds are required. |
