| VoStab | VoStab is a software product that calculates the Maximum Loadability Level of every single bus(Nosepoint of PV curve) and will produce the same results as PV curves(up to minus 5%). VoStab can calculate the Maximum Loadabillity Level on a network of greater then 700 busses(Size of Hydro Quebec ) in less than 15 minutes. Smaller systems will converge much faster. VoStab will provide an index between –1 and 1 for every bus and it will provide an absolute measure of proximity to voltage instability. There is evidence to support that not performing Voltage Stability calculations in near real time leaves the transmission provider at risk of voltage instability and potentially millions to billions in damages as seen in 2003 Blackout(4 to 6 billion dollars). With VoStab we can monitor the Stability Margin and prevent or reduce damage on heavily loaded systems preventing Blackouts and equipment damage. |
