| Silver / Mercury Filling Replacement | For safe removal of mercury amalgam fillings, you want a dentist who is trained to remove amalgam fillings safely, and trained to replace the old silver fillings with safe composite, gold or porcelain fillings. Many people choose to replace their silver fillings with composite or porcelain fillings for aesthetic reasons (composites and porcelain can be made in many shades of white to create a filling that is nearly identical to the original tooth colour). But there are other benefits to replacing amalgam fillings too – your health. Silver amalgam fillings are approximately 50% mercury mixed with silver, tin, zinc, and copper.
