Arbitration involves an independent adjudicator (the Arbitrator) who reviews evidence and hears arguments from all parties involved, their representatives, witnesses and counsel to determine the outcome of a dispute (the Award). An arbitrator may be appointed by the parties, their counsel, a judge, or governing head. Evidence and testimony is carefully evaluated and an Award is presented to the parties within a specified timeline. The Award may be enforced by the governing court if necessary. More complex disputes involving many matters and parties, organizational statutes or agreements may require a specialized Tribunal to hear the matter.
