Cancer Informatics and Software Engineering | In business since 1983, Artificial Intelligence In Medicine Inc. (AIM)is a Canadian software engineering firm with a focus on cancer informatics. Our products are in operation across five provinces and seventeen states. ISIS Information Technology Solutions for Population-Based Surveillance and Prevention of Disease are the most advanced disease surveillance and monitoring systems in the world. The technology powers cervical, breast and colorectal cancer screening programs and is also suitable for monitoring infectious diseases, premalignant conditions, and other programs dealing with large volumes of medical data in a variety of formats from different sources. The first implementation has been in operation since 1996, and now contains over 7 million cervical cytology results for 3.5 million women. ISIS E-Path provides seamless integration of data from laboratories, to registrars, through to regional or state central registries. The software automatically selects reportable cases and forwards them for appropriate action, improving both data quality and cost efficiency. An online demonstration is available at www.aim.on.ca/epathdemo/start.htm for your convenience. ISIS-Registrar is a pathology indexing and cancer abstracting system for cancer registries. Its functionality ranges from simple indexing of pathology reports and tumor data, to the preparation and management of cancer abstracts, through to comprehensive data management for large registries. AutoCode is a semantic analyzer that determines the concepts represented in unstructured text ("free text") relative to a reference lexicon. It can identify pathology reports that contain reportable cancers. With ISIS-Registrar, it provides interactive auto-coding assistance for compiling cancer abstracts. You may view a Flash demo at www.aim.on.ca/framesets/autocode_set.html . TissueMetrix manages physical tissue banks, and can also integrate multi-site institutional and special research tissue banks with a centralized regional catalogue. |
