| Para-IT Certification Program for Challenged Learners | Para-IT (www.Para-IT.com) is a unique post-secondary certification program for Adults with learning Challenges. This program focuses on the development of generic Business Soft Skills and Business Information Technology required to get a job (and keep it!) in the knowledge-based industry. Opportunities exist in the knowledge based industry but usually for workers with the right skills. Jobs are created in industry when there is a shortage of skills. Most enterprises have zones or layers that require professional competencies and supporting skills. However, a significant amount of work is done by workers in the pre-professional layer. The goal of Para-IT is to train workers to function in the pre-professional layer of knowledge-based industries. The certification program seeks to develop an office generalist with good Soft Skills and IT skills who will be employable in the knowledge-based industry. In order to achieve this goal we offer candidates a rich variety of Blended Learning Options: a) Small Group Learning Circles (3 to 6 candidates). This includes customized one-on-one tutoring. b) The Group Learning Circles are supported by Online Courses where many resources can be accessed. c) Video Online one-on-one tutoring. Para-IT welcomes candidates with different levels of learning challenges through its graduated certification process: Bronze, Silver and Gold. Gold level candidates can be placed in co-op settings. Synopsis Of the Para-IT Certification Process There are 5 steps in this process: Free Assessment --> Training --> Co-op Placement --> Certification --> Employment Para-IT Training Modules The instruction provided at Para-IT is based on business requirements since it is a business certification course, designed by business leaders for business. A mandatory component of the certification program are 14 Soft Skills modules. These include business communication skills: Listening, written, verbal and body language. The Soft Skills modules also include topics such as Self-Promotion, Networking, Job Search and Interview Techniques. In addition, topics such as Document Management, Effective Meetings, Cold Calling, Marketing, Negotiating Skills and Sales Techniques are also covered.
