EDMSIM (Emergency and Disaster Management Simulator) is an entity-based, real-time constructive simulation. The intent of EDMSIM is to train the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) staff and Incident Commanders (IC) by replacing the current cloth model and Master Event List (MEL) exercises with a simulator. This provides a more realistic input to the ICs and EOC and allows the exercise to be more dynamic and free-flowing than the traditional training methods.
EDMSIM is intended as a training tool for the primary training audience which is the ICs and EOC but also the secondary training audience which are the first responders and other operators who are sitting in front of the computer stations operating the simulation entities.
MILSIM is an entity-based, real-time constructive battlefield command simulation. MILSIM allows commanders to simulate engagements realistically from the individual all the way up to divisional level. A simple user interface and the ability to automate functionality allow limited numbers of staff to control large units. After Action Reporting functionality provides participants graphical and video examples of lessons learned.
MILSIM is intended as a training tool for the primary training audience which are the commanders and their staff within a headquarters but also the secondary training audience which are the lower-level leaders and other operators who are sitting in front of the computer stations operating the simulation entities. MILSIM is intended to train commanders and staff on command post operations and battlefield tactics.
MILSIM can be interfaced with Command and Control (C2) systems and used as a stimulator for training purposes. This provides the users with a contextual basis for their training and enables them to interact with the simulated units via the C2 software and to receive feedback (unit position updates and message traffic) from their actions.
